ORCID webinar via SocialBiblio

Next May 29th a webinar on ORCID will be held within the activities the SocialBiblio platform is programming for this quarter. The webinar, whose title is "ORCID: a final solution to author identification issues?" will deal with ORCID advantages for authors and institutions and will describe the process for its implementation at early adopting institutions in Spain.

COAR Annual Meeting 2013 in Istanbul

The 4th COAR Annual Meeting will be held at the Özyeğin University Library in Istanbul on May 7-8. The event will provide a good opportunity for COAR members, partners and invited guests to discuss issues such as CRIS/IR interoperability, institutional research data management, author IDs/ORCID or impact metrics and repositories (see event programme).

ORCID Outreach meeting next May

The first 2013 ORCID Outreach meeting will be held in Oxford (UK) next May 23rd, where the progress of the initiative and its plans for 2013 will be presented. The event will run together with a Symposium on Research Attribution co-organised with Dryad and an ORCID Codefest for developers focused on "Connections".

Deadline for OR13 submissions

Monday March 4th marks the deadline for submissions to the Open Repositories 2013 (OR13) conference. The event, for which registration is already open, will be held next Jul 8-12 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The conference's theme is [repository content] "Use, Reuse, Reproduce", with a strong emphasis on research data and software.

2nd Workshop on Research Information Management (JGIC'2013)

On Feb 28th and Mar 1st the 2nd edition of the JGIC Workshop on Research Information Management in Catalunya will be held at the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (IEC) in Barcelona. The event programme features a set of conferences and round tables on transdisciplinar issues such as Open Data, Science 2.0 or the impact of Open Access on scientific communication.

ORCID dissemination session at Universidad de Cádiz

On Feb 27th two ORCID dissemination sessions for researchers will be held at the Universidad de Cádiz Campuses of Cádiz and Puerto Real. Jointly organised by the UCA Research Secretary and Library, the sessions will deal with the procedures and advantages of ORCID registration for researchers and the institution.
