CERIFying CVN

As an euroCRIS member and organiser of the most recent euroCRIS membership meeting, GrandIR will be part of the euroCRIS/FECYT joint working group for CVN CERIFication. This WG, lead by Miguel Ángel Sicilia from euroCRIS and UAH, will shortly start its analysis for providing full CERIF compatibility to the Spanish Normalised Curriculum Vitae (CVN) initiative.

Open Access Seminar at Universidade do Minho

A 3-day Open Access Seminar will be held on Feb 6-8th at the Universidade do Minho Campus de Gualtar in Braga. The event programme includes a Workshop on the MedOANet European Project on the 6th, an Open Access/Open Data Seminar on the 7th and an OpenAIRE Workshop on Interoperability on Feb 8th. Earlier in the week, Universidade do Minho will also host the euroCRIS CERIF Task Group Meeting on Feb 4-5th.

Recolecta Report on Data Preservation and Re-Use

After a first introduction to the work by the FECYT/Recolecta Working Group on Data Repositories was delivered at the GrandIR technical session on Research Data Management in Spain, a "Preliminary Report on Research Data Preservation and Re-Use in Spain" [Spanish language] was released last Jan 25th. The report collects a set of best practices for Research Data Management together with a use case on the ODISEA International Registry on Research Data.

8th 'Academic Publishing in Europe' Conference in Berlin

On Jan 29-30th a new edition of the APE Conferences will be held at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academie of Sciences in Berlin. The event, running under the motto "The Funding of Publishing. Changes and Consequences for Science and Society" will provide a forum for discussing relevant issues for the publishing industry such as research data management or Open Access implementation in UK Universities (see programme).

5th Couperin Open Access Meeting in Paris

A very well attended 5th Couperin Open Access Meeting (374 registrees) was held on Jan 24-25th at the ENSAM in Paris. With prominent Open Access advocates featured among the speakers (see programme), the event provided a good opportunity for examining strategies for achieving a 100% research output deposit rate into Open Access repositories.

International Digital Curation Conference 2013

Organised by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) in partnership with the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), the 8th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) is held Jan 14-16th in Amsterdam. Running under the title "Infrastructure, Intelligence, Innovation: driving the Data Science agenda", the event aims to discuss the progress and the numerous remaining challenges in the implementation of a roadmap for data-intensive research - see programme.
