Training courses

One of the main problems that affect development of repository networks and prevent their harmonization is the absence of a specific professional profile for the position of repository manager. Although relevant efforts are being made on the issue, the situation is far from being solved, often due to the low staffed workteams dealing with repositories. GrandIR intends to help improving this situation by offering several specific learning modules:

  • Courses for staff in charge of institutional repository development, management and maintenance. Specific, customized courses are offered for different professional profiles. These courses address starting projects or institutions willing to update their staff’s abilities.
  • Courses for repository users. Final repository users are usually the institution researchers, who should be aware of the project objectives and the working procedures for the new digital information resource. Therefore, GrandIR is also offering a range of specific courses and learning activities focused on institutional researchers. In this courses the implications of Open Access are explained, as well as its institutional implementation via the repository and other potential initiatives. Special emphasis is made on explaining the way the repository project deals with Intellectual Property Rights.
